The Planning and Zoning department receives inquiries about land use and processes applications through the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Township Board of Trustees. Rezoning requests, Special Events and Special Use applications are administered through this office.

This office receives written complaints and administers the township zoning ordinance.

A land use permit is required for a new structure such as decks, pools, accessory buildings and/or additions to an existing structure. When applying for a land use permit, three (3) sets of plans are required (1 for the Township and 2 for Livingston County) and the appropriate fees. Once your land use permit is approved, you will visit the Livingston County Building Department to obtain construction permits for your project.
